Position was in the right part of town as very near to Team Valley where I had business the next day

TV reception was not great and no remote in room but one was found for me

The rooms were spaceous and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was a bit too far from the centre of Newcastle than i would have liked but this was not a major problem as hotel made up for this.

close to Gateshead International Stadium, Metro Centre and Newcastle

Floor creaked, bed creaked, mattress needs replacing (room 209), room and breakfast very basic for the cost (£70)

We were unknowingly put on the floor where stag and hen parties are usually located, woken at 3am by shouting, swearing and loud music. Bedroom carpet hadn't been hoovered nor had the bathroom floor been cleaned properly.Toilet and around taps on sink not cleaned properly(found couple of falsh eyelashes belonging to someone else on sink!! Bulbs missing from lamps and never have all 3 of us had to sleep on temporary beds in the same room before. Breakfast area had not been cleaned from the previous night and the area where the cereals etc were displayed left a lot to be desired. If we hadn't driven 5 hours from London and arrived at 10.30pm I don't think we would have stayed. The only redeeming factor was the new operational manager who appears to be trying to put things in order. Have been told to write letter of complaint and we will!

    Just off the a1

Poor value for money. Old, outdated. Tv didn't work, uncomfortable and old beds, poor breakfast.

24 hour bar, relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for price paid.

Too noisy. People screaming in corridor and banging on wall and doors and shouting at each other all through night and hotel staff didnt keep them quiet. for example got woke up at about 2ish by a man screaming down the corridor.

    Friendly helpful staff.

There was a 'stag' party using the hotel, who caused disturbance overnight. A party in a room close to mine caused noise which disturbed my sleep. In the morning, we were faced with this group, still drinking beer in the same room that the breakfast was being served in. The breakfast bar needed replenishing with several items - juice, hot items of food, butter. We had to queue and wait for all of these. The tea and coffee were awful - just a dish of instant coffee/ tea bags and a flask of hot water - no saucers available, just cups. The tables were not cleared. The toaster was slow, leading to a queue. Then the bread ran out.....

    The bathroom was spacious.

This hotel looks beautiful. The rooms are quite spacious but not as clean as expected. We were given rooms in the middle of an area where a group of young men were staying in order to celebrete a birthday in the city. On their return at 1.30 until 4.0am the noise from them( and females) was dreadful , banging doors, shouting, laughing. We later learned that this hotel is often used for group bookings of this kind. After a sleepless night the poor quality of the breakfast left a lot to be desired

Relaxed welcome on arrival, room was adequate although a little old fashioned

Breakfast was served but you had to get your own toast, tea and cereal which took quite a time and breakfast went cold.

The hotel staff, they were great. The bar was constantly open and the staff always smiling, even in the middle of the night. The staff really did make this stay welcoming and enjoyable. Also, the breakfast was good to wake up to after a night out in the town, full breakfast with a jug of fresh juice.

When picking up the key from reception, after leaving it with them while we went out, we weren't asked for any proof it was our room. Felt like maybe anyone could have got our key, although we did see the staff a lot and many of them could have easily recognised us.

The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Very clean & comfortable rooms. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. We would definately recommend this hotel and will certainly use on future visits to Newcastle.
